New animals and worm burden testing – should I test?

The introduction of new animals can bring unwanted parasites and diseases into your herd.  For this reason, new animals should not be immediately introduced into your herd, but instead should be quarantined for a period of time.  During this time, new animals should be tested for worms and, if required, drenched.  This ensures the integrity of your flock is not compromised by the introduction of large worm burdens.
